Dingos 2011 AGM Wrap
NOTE: Image only slightly resembles Dingo AGMThe Toronto Dingos officially put 2011 to rest with our Annual General Meeting a couple weeks ago, as the club looks forward to the 2012 OAFL Season.
Highlights of the event include a glowingly positive Dingo Financial Report, the entire Dingo Executive re-standing without a single muffled protest, and an emotional farewell to Andrew Gaut, who’s going away soiree commenced immediately following the AGM.
Here now are some of the notable points discussed – for full details, see the complete minutes here.
- PRESIDENT: Craig Stewart
- VICE-PRESIDENT: Dave Wells
- TREASURER: Yoni Moussadji
- SECRETARY: Everett Wells
- DIRECTOR: Paul Tinkler
- While the position exists in the Toronto Dingos Constitution, it has remained unfilled for several seasons – the Director of Development (Paul Tinkler) will focus more on Women’s, Div2, Junior programs for the Toronto Dingos in 2012 and beyond.
- The Dingos will go through a slight alteration of the coaching staff for 2012, with former head-coach Mick McFarlane stepping back up to the plate, and 2011 head coach Chris Buczkowski staying on as an Assistant Coach. Justin Robertson, back from Aus, will also step forward as an Assistant Coach, and has already begun devising some devilish winter training workouts (offseason? what offseason?)
- Though still in its infancy, the club approved the motion to forge ahead and take part in the growing Women’s Division of the OAFL. Details are still to come.
AGM locked in
The Dingos AGM has been set for noon, on Saturday December 10th at the Sports Centre Cafe. If you are interested in attending and would like a copy of the agenda, please contact: president@torontodingos.com.

Coaches Award – Tom Bell . Rookie of the Year – Kyle Timmins. Goal Kicking – Craig Stewart. Divison 2 B&F – Lexi Leonard. Best Dressed – Gauto and Rick. A big thanks to everyone who came out and supported the club, and to DP, Spider and Wellsy for putting the night together.

Dingos win footy trip award.
After a mediocre 2011 season on the field, the dingos have taken out the award for best footy trip destination by an OAFL club, flying to Varadero Cuba. Leaving on Thursday, November 3rd, participants had the option of a 3 day or 7 day all inclusive package. When asked about his thoughts, club president Craig Stewart had this to say: “The team is really excited about going to Cuba for the footy trip and to win this award as well is truly an honor. A big thanks go out to DP for organizing and to Honest Jakes who sponsor the trip each year”. 2011 coach; Chris Buczkowski, could hardly contain his glee at the prospect of an all inclusive footy trip “All you can eat…All you can drink” was repeated again and again. Other random quotes heard from the boys (see if you can guess who):
- I hope they know how to pour 4 different colored shots.
- Cuba? Why don’t we go somewhere else
- I’m packin’ my speedo.
- she’ll be back
- I miss my girlfriend
- How can I compete with free beer? This sets a bad precedent.
- Doesn’t count in a different country
